Commencement

I woke up in the morning and everything was totally different. For me, it was the start of a brand new life. Lying on bed with my eyes open, I could not only see but also sense the strange atmosphere. The bed, the ceiling, the settings and even the way the sun shone through the window frame hitting my face was so unfamiliar to that from my home. However, rubbing my sleepy eyes and trying to get out of bed. There was still an overwhelming pack of excitement surging out deep from my heart. The only reason was because it was the very first day of a three-day event for me to have in Tai Da.

When I arrived, the fellow students of my team were already waiting there for us with a big smile on their face. Upon seeing them, their delighted mood was like a contagious disease that quickly spread out among us and brightened our faces. No sooner than the administrator finished his introduction speech, I was assigned to hold our team board, which to me was an honor. Next stop was at a classroom to listen to a professor’s lecture. The topic was to give us directions on how to study and arrange our time well. The professor shared his own experience with us but kept saying that he was only lucky, which often made the whole class burst into laughter. As for me, I still listened in awe because to me majoring in both law and medicine was nearly mission impossible!

In the afternoon we toured the whole school campus but in a fun way. I could see that all the elderly students really put a great bunch of effort into it. We played a game while rounding the school environment. We enjoyed the presentations and filled out forms as a way of participation. And you know what? It worked out! Before the end of the first day I could memorize which building was for what kind of use. On the second day, there were more presentations of things about school and also more campus visiting. But the highlight of it was the registration of course! After a few checking procedures, and finally I got the student ID card. It was at that very moment that I was officially a part of the great family NTU. I was so exhilarated that I almost screamed out loud in public, “I love NTU!”

On the third day, that is, the final day the fellow students, teammates and I were all getting along very well. At last, the ending ceremony still had to come. Although tired, we all wished that it would never come to an end. But we were still able to see each other in school in the future, so we hugged each other farewell with tears wandering on the edge of our eyes. These three days of orientation were so precious a memory to me that I would never let it slip out from my heart!
